Here, the pair of plates are welded and the other side is of gasket channel—means the plate pack consists of welded channels which alternate the traditional gasketed channels. Ring Gasket is placed in the gasket side channel for between Laser welded plates. The ring gasket is of special clip type and can be made suitable for Aggressive media of the welded channel.

The flow principle is same as conventional gasketted type plate heat exchanger. The difference is that every second channel is sealed with the laser weld instead of gasket.


The refrigerant like ammonia or  solvent vapours or special media which is not compatible with normal gasket  flows through the welded channel.

and the coolant or other fluids flows in the gasketted channel. All other operations are similar to the Gasketed PHE.Feature and Benefits are similar to the conventional type with additional  feature of Great compatibility with critical media .

  • It has all the advantages of a conventional gasket plate heat exchanger has.
  • It solved the problem that when the medium in one side of the conventional gasket plate heat exchanger is corrosive, and the rubber gasket cannot meet the requirements.
  • It does not require frequent replacement of gaskets which lowers the operating cost. Laser welding is used for sealing and replaces conventional gaskets on the process material side thus largely reduces the procurement of spare parts.
