Conventional Gasket Type
Plate Heat Exchanger

Plate Heat Exchanger consists of corrugated plates fixed with gasket and these are mounted between fixed frame and movable frame.

Top and Bottom carrying bar are used for hanging the plates in between frames and the ties rods are used for tightening to the required plate pack. Fluids enter through the connections in the frame and are distributed in between plates. The fluids flow through alternate passages between plates by means of gasket arrangement.

SS304, SS316, SMO254, Hastelloy C 276 , Titanium, Ti-Pd, Nickel, etc.

Gasket Materials Used:

NBR, NBR Peroxide cured, HNBR, EPDM, EPDM -P, Viton A , Viton G, etc.

Distribution pattern in the Plate :
There is wide distribution pattern of corrugation at the entry of fluids. This helps the fluid distribution across the entire width of the plate. Avoids mal-distribution thus reducing the fouling rate.

Gasket Groove :
Deep gasket groove ensures support to gasket from three side. This helps the gasket misalignment /dislocation.

Single Mechanical Homogenous pressing of Plates:
We offer channel plates that are pressed in “Single Mechanical Homogenous Operation”. The corrugations are wider & smoother. Thus it results in minimal residual stresses and long life of plates.

Plate Heat Exchanger

Single Mechanical Homogenous pressing of Plates:
Free flow wide Plate heat exchanger consists of corrugated plates with very deep groove fixed with thick gasket and these are mounted between fixed frame and
movable frame . The free flow channel gap is more from 5 mm to max 12 mm. Top and Bottom carrying bar are used for hanging the plates in between frames and the ties
rods are used for tightening to the required plate pack. Fluids enter through the connections in the frame and are freely distributed in between plates due to large
channel gap. The fluids flow thorough alternate passages between plates by means of gasket arrangement.

SS304, SS316,SMO254, Titanium.

Gasket Materials Used:

NBR,NBR Peroxide cured, HNBR, EPDM, EPDM‒P.

Major Applications

Semi-Welded Twin Plate / Laser Welded Plate Heat Exchanger

In this type PHE, the pair of plates is welded and the other side is of gasket channel-which means the plate pack consists of welded channels which alternates the traditional gasketed channels. Ring Gasket is placed in the gasket side channel between Laser welded plates. The ring gasket is of special clip type and can be made suitable for Aggressive media that flows in the welded channel.
The flow principle is same as Conventional Gasketed Type Plate Heat exchanger. The difference is that every second channel is sealed with the laser weld instead of gasket.

Plate Material:

SS304, SS304L, SS316, SS316L, SS317L, SS321, 254SMO, Titanium, N200/201, Hastelloy C-276, Hastelloy C-2000, Hastelloy G-30, 904L.

Plate thickness:

0.6mm, 0.7mm, 0.8mm

Gasket Materials Used:

EPDM, Nitrile, Chloroprene,
Fluororubber.

Other materials suitable for special working conditions
are also available.

Operation

The refrigerant like ammonia or solvent vapours or special media which is not compatible with normal gasket flows through the welded channel and the coolant or other fluids flows in the gasketted channel. All other operations are similar to the Gasketed PHE. Feature and benefits are similar to the Conventional type with additional feature like great compatibility with critical media.

Advantages

It has all the advantages of a conventional gasket plate heat exchanger.
It resolved the problem like when one of the medium in the conventional gasket plate heat exchanger is corrosive and when the rubber gasket cannot meet the requirements.
It does not require frequent replacement of gaskets which lowers the operating cost. Laser welding which is used for sealing, replaces conventional gaskets on the process material side thus largely reduces the procurement of spare parts.

Brazed Plate Heat Exchanger

The Brazed Heat Exchanger is constructed as a package of corrugated channel plates between front and rear cover-plate packages. The coverplate packages consist of sealing plates, blind rings and cover plates. Connections are mounted on the cover plates and can be customized to meet specific market and application requirements. During the vaccum-brazing process, a brazed joint is formed at every contact point between the base and the filler material. This design creates a heat exchanger that consists of two separate channels or circuits.

Plate Material:

There are different BHE product categories depending on material combinations and design pressures. The standard plate materials are AISI 316 stainless steel, vaccum-brazed with a pure copper filler or a nickel-based filler. For demanding applications, the plates can be made of SMO 254, a stainless steel with a higher content of molybdenum.

Special Feature

Spiral Heat Exchanger

The Spiral Heat Exchanger is a simple design and tailor made as per the applications. Spacer Studs are flash welded in a special stud welding machine on the two long strips that comprise heating surface. The two strips are joined by welding in the centre of a retractable mandrel.

Rotation of the mandrel on special rolling machine wraps up the strips to form the basic spiral element. While wrapping takes place, one edge of each strip is flanged to form the closing when wrapping completed, plates are welded to seal one side of the each passage. To form a flange for attaching the covers, a bar with a special cross section is fitted to the periphery on each side of the spiral element. A header is welded on at the outer end of each passage to accommodate the respective peripheral nozzles. The end cover with nozzle fitted at the centre of end cover is covered on both sides.

The overall gasket is placed with cover and hook bolts or welded depends on applications. Spiral heat exchangers are horizontally or vertically mounted and fitted with removable covers or welded extensions to make three different flow patterns for liquid to liquid or vapor to liquid services.

Plate Heat Exchanger

The plates are laser welded ‒ Resistant spot welding of two sheets and then subsequently inflating with high pressure air in order to obtain internal channels for the fluid to flow.

The use of thin metal sheets results in excellent heat transfer coefficients, reduces the cost while maintaining considerable mechanical stability.

These are versatile and efficient heat exchangers and can be used for indirect heating or cooling by immersion into the fluid, or attached onto the sides of tanks, pipes or machinery.

Plate Material:

Typically manufactured from Stainless Steel (AISI 304 or 316).
Titanium and other materials may be available on request, depending on the feasibility of construction.
